Late notice again but that’s our style. #SXSE returns this weekend and we’re making our east bay debut at Commonwealth Cafe & Pub in Oakland this Sunday, the 26th.
If you get there in time you can grab a bowl of this 18-hour smoked brisket “tonkotsu” ramen. We’ll also have the famous #BBQatLux brisket biscuit, pulled pork waffles, and a few more surprises.
11am to 4pm, Telegraph at 29th

Did some exploring yesterday with @overtherhine @thechivalrymvmt and @nickdewald. This is Findlay Market in Over the Rhine in downtown Cincinnati. Findlay is the oldest continuously operated public market in Ohio. Over the Rhine has one of the largest historic districts in the US and an amazing collection of buildings, the majority of which have been vacant for years. It’s taken a long time to get going but the neighborhood is now being restored at a pretty incredible pace. It’s a fun time to be in Cincinnati. #thisisotr (at Findlay Market)
First meal in town and introduced @chrisconnolly and @pketron to Skyline with @nickdewald 🍝 (at Skyline Chilli)
Gà kho and broken rice — Vietnamese style chicken cooked in caramel sauce.
Broken rice is literally just grains of rice that have been broken into smaller pieces. It’s super easy to make and a fun, different texture. Soak jasmine rice for ten minutes or so, and then just rub the grains between your fingers in the water and you’ll feel the grains breaking up. Rinse well after breaking, before steaming because if not you’ll end up with a sticky pile of goo from all the fine bits.
